1. In your opinion, what is the main issue a clinician should address with this patient during the
Clinical interview? (Explain you answer and formulate 3 questions)Even though the case shows that the patient has borderline personality disorder and a major depression, the main issues to deal with are the suicidal ideas and behaviours since she seems to be at riskof self harm.
The best way to know about the suicide ideation of a patient is by asking. Its not easy to ask somebody about his/her suicidal thoughts. It is useful to approach the theme gradually.Some useful questions are:
• Do you feel sad?
• Do you feel that nobody cares about you?
• Do you feel that life is meaningless?
• Do you tend to have suicidal thoughts? Or Do you tend to harmyourself?

2. Name one psychological test to evaluate this case?
Suicide risk assessment is a complex process involving consideration of a multitude of factors and contexts. Parting from theclinical history and the patient’s case description, the most urgent is to control and identify whether there are suicidal thoughts or not, because if there is, the patient is at high risk of self harm andthus needs to be referred to a psychiatrist immediately. It is also important to perform a personality test to establish her traits and the congruence of her state displayed on the report and heractual personality.
Even if is statistically imposible to develop a measure that will acurative predict wheter a given indivual is going to make a future suicide attempt, reasearch suggest that there aresome psychological factors associated with an increased risk of suicidial thoughts and behavior.
