1 Introduction
I started with Adempiere in January 2008, having nothing done before with PLJAVA. I found a lot
of documentation for various configurations. Configuration profiles concerning the Operating
Systems
OpenSuse 10.3 i386/32 and i386/64
Debian Etch 4.0
● SLES
● Windows
● AIX
... with different Java Versions
● Java1.5.0_xx
● Java 1.6.0 (at this point of writing jdbc4 is not supported)

All togetherone might have about 5 (os) * 2 (java) * 3 (pg) * 2 (pljava) * 4 (AD) = 240 different
configuration profiles, not counting on the different kernels, releases, and a lot more.
But before I will start, I do have to say that is important to understand, that pljava is using the Java
Native Interface (JNI). Via the JNI it is possible to leave the Java-VM environment, using
operating-system (os)...
