Studying in Colombia offers the opportunity to foreign professionals of pursuing high level programs at the most recognized Colombian universities, while they enjoy the kindness of people, the
variety of climate and the beauty of the landscapes, race, culture, flora, faunaand gastronomy.
This document is an invitation for foreign students, investors and tourists to consider Colombia as
an ideal destiny for their activities because it is a modern country provided of high level educational institutions, research centers of excellence and an own infrastructure for investment and rest.
On these pages we can show a country that offers all climates, from the stiflingheat of deserts,
valleys and coasts up to the intense cold of our high plateaus and snow-capped mountains.
Between them, you can go by road in two hours. We also have tropical jungle, plains, mountain chains and table-lands.
In our country intact multiple indigenous cultures are kept such as Wayú and Tayrona and also
clear and beautiful architectural expressions of our Colonial Epoch. Colombiais the first country
of the world in biodiversity and one of the richest in water resources. We have mighty rivers as
Amazon and Orinoco and our two coasts let us accede to Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Our gastronomy is varied and exquisite; the privilege of being a tropical country let us break
culinary schemes that, in other countries, are limited by seasons.
Our natural wealth gives us theopportunity to offer to our visitors the most beautiful jewels in
gold and emeralds as well as a delicious cup of mild Colombian coffee.
But our most important asset is our hospitable, friendly, happy and hard-working people that
confirm that Colombia is the best place to live.
In the educational sector, National Government started its program of Educational Revolution,
entrusting ICETEX thetasks of financing higher education for Colombian students of minor
resources as well as of strengthening educational cooperation to foment national development
and intercultural dialogue with the rest of the world.
In this way, Colombian Government, through ICETEX, offers total and/or partial scholarships for
foreign citizens to pursue postgraduate and master studies at high level...
