Albert Eienstein utilizes different tones and styles of rhethoric in an attempt to demonstrate to the reader his knowledge. In Passage A, he uses anobjective tone to explain to the reader a concept found in physics. He uses ethos to demonstrate his mastery of the topic and to come across as precise and factual. However, he fails to portray hisintelligence in Passage B, where he discusses a possible solution to the problems facing the economy at the time. His choice of language instead illustrates his uncertainty and doubtfulness on the topic, unlike the intelligence he exhibited in Passage A. However, consistently seen throughout both of his written passages, is his desire to present himself as a logical and scholarly individual.
