RESUMEN
INTRODUCCION Y OBJETIVO: Los alimentos transgénicos influyen demasiado en la dieta de los mexicanos, quienes no saben lo que es untransgénico ni los efectos que causa en la salud, y sin embargo los siguen consumiendo debido al poco conocimiento del tema. El objetivo de esta investigación es dar a conocer a las personas todos las implicaciones que conllevan los OGM y así poder decidir libremente el tipo de alimentos que deseamos consumir, así como hasta que punto estamos dispuestos a seguir permitiendo la libre producción,importación y exportación de los mismos. MATERIAL Y METODOS: se realizo una encuesta en la zona metropolitana del Distrito Federal, Guadalajara y Monterrey con una muestra de 406 encuestas efectivas en ciudadanos mayores de 18 años con una línea telefónica en su hogar donde se les pregunto si saben que es un alimento transgénico y otra donde se les cuestionaba si las empresas deben etiquetar su productocon la información del contenido transgenico. La técnica de recolección fue una entrevista telefónica a través de sistema CATI (Computer Asisted Telephone Interview) con un nivel de confianza de 95%, con un margen de error de 4.9% (puede haber una variación de 4.9) probabilidad de que suceda p=.5. RESULTADOS: el 73% de la población encuestada no sabe que es un transgénico. Entre los que sisaben que son los transgenicos: a)10.8% no sabe si los ha consumido. B) 8.1% cree que no los ha consumido. C) 4% cree que los ha consumido pero no sabe en que alimentos. D) 4.1% le da lo mismo o quería probarlo. En la segunda encuesta un 98% de los mexicanos exige que empresas informen si usan transgenicos en sus productos. CONCLUSIONES: los alimentos transgenicos tienen mas riesgos que beneficios enla salud y en el medio ambiente.

ABSTRACT
SUMMARY INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: The transgenic foods influence so much in the diet of the Mexicans, that don´t know what is transgenic nor effects that it causes in the health, and nevertheless they continue them consuming due to the little knowledge of the subject. Theobjective of this investigation is to present the people all the implications that entail the OGM and so to be able to freely decide the type of foods that we wished to consume, as well as to what extent we are arranged to continue allowing the free production, import and export of the same.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: We are realized a survey in the metropolitan zone of the Federal District,Guadalajara and Monterrey with a sample of 406 effective surveys in citizens majors of 18 years with a telephone line in its home where I wonder myself to them if they know that it is a transgenic food and another where it was questioned to them if the companies must label their product with the information of the transgenic content. The harvesting technique was a telephone interview through system CATI(Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) with a level of 95% confidence, with an allowable error of 4,9% (it can have a variation of 4,9) probability that p=.5 happens.
RESULTS: 73% of the survey population don´t know that he is a transgenic one. Between that if they know that they are the transgenic ones: a) 10,8% does not know it has consumed if them. B) 8,1% thinks that it has not consumedthem. C) 4% think it has consumed that them but it does not know in that foods. D) 4,1% give the same or wanted him to prove it. In the second survey a 98% of the Mexicans demand that companies inform if they use transgenic in his products.
