Cleopatra was born on 60 B.C.E in Alexandria; she had lots of brother and sisters. She studied by going to the library most of thetime. Cleopatra was interested more in books that boys. When Cleopatra was 11, her father King Ptolemy xii took her to Rome. Raging mobs had run him off his throne. He would pay Romans a lot of money sothe soldiers would go scare off his enemies. He had tons of enemies that he even needed Roman protection. Six years later Cleopatra became queen of Egypt.
Cleopatra’s brother and sister married,but jealous brother Seth or Set killed Osiris. Isis recovered his brother-husband’s body and magically got pregnant and gave birth to Horus-the falcon- headed god. Julious Caesar arrived to Egyptlooking for Pompey but when he got there, the boy’s king’s advisors showed Pompey’s head to Julious Caesar’s face. He wept, not because he was sad, but because he was not able to kill him himself; so hewent to the palace and Cleopatra had to talk to Caesar. Caesar was fifty-two years old and married but after six months Cleopatra gave birth to Ptolemy Caesar, nicknamed Caesarion, which means littleCaesar. Cleopatra, Caesarion and Cleopatra’s brother-husband visited Rome with Caesar in 46 B.C.E. Cleopatra died in 30 B.C.E.
Cleopatra is going to help me in social studies class and is going tohelp me understand more about Egypt. Studying Cleopatra makes me want to know more about Egyptian cultures and history. Studying Cleopatra made me realize that life in her time was not as easy.
