We have just come off an incredible season of ministry that has bore much fruit for the Kingdom.
I was reading in a devotion recently about Jesusand the observations and practices of the Passover meal. I am humbled and blown away by the significance of sybolism of every act surrounding Passover. Thereare four cups of wine served at the Passover meal and each cup represents the four expressions or "I wills" of God's promised deliverance in Exodus 6:6-7.
InLuke 22:20, the third cup from the passover meal is referenced, and it is represented by the third "I will" statement of God in Exodus 6:6 "I will redeem youwith an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgement."
The redemption cup.
Many say this is the same cup Jesus speaks of in the Garden of Gethsemanewhen he asks of God to "take this cup from me." Jesus says he will not drink of another cup until the coming kingdom of God.
Instead of drinking from the cup,he literally became the cup, and poured his life out for the redemption of mankind.
I have seen many this summer come and pour themselves out as an offeringfor the redemption of many and for the sake of the Gospel. It is humbling. God is at work on Hispaniola and we are grateful to be a part of this work. We lookto him for our strength, for our courage, for our "refilling."
