The Anasazi “Hopi Tribe”
Anasazi is the Navajo name given for the Hopi descendents. The Anasazis lived on the desert in the southwest of the United States. That place was chosen for them by the“Creator” or the “Great Spirit” for the Hopis, they were the ancestors of all modern pueblo nations.
By 900 A.D. they settle what is now days Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, and learn how to findwater and work the soil. Villages gather together to built irrigations canals in order for them to plant different kinds of seeds such as; corn, squash, and beans.
Before Christ, the Anasazi used tolive in subterranean houses, to protect them from the hot and cold weather of the desert, therefore they were people connected with their land that is the reason they believe they emerge from earth.After time passed the Anasazi upgraded their way of living by constructing houses on ground level, but never abandoned their underground houses, instead they started using them as a “Spiritual Place ofTeaching” named Kivas (The place of origin). They built Kivas that could hold up to 500 people.
The Anasazi had a good visionary plan, and built a Meca a big village for pilgrims and merchantslocated on the Chaco Canyon right on the center of their land, designated for trading purposes, they built over 400 miles of roads, all of these roads lead to the canyon, at certain distance they hadsignals points with fire to guide the travelers at day or night. Thanks to those roads cultures from another region were able to complete trades, and helped maintain dozens of communities.
Although theMeca was a big complex it was never compared to Pueblo Bonito, the biggest city the tribe ever built. Around 1100 A.D. Pueblo Bonito had 800 rooms and over 1000 residents, some sections of the villagehad five story buildings, they had 37 sacred Kivas to perform religious ceremonies, they also used the village as a point of trading, the most valuable item they had in trade was the Turquoise....
