And Why Globalization

And……. Why Globalization?????
Perhaps when you hear the word globalization nothing comes to your mind because it have become a natural word that you use every day, however, when you have a look of nowadays situation in the world, you can even think that this cannot be a good strategy for the future.
Let’s take a pessimistic picture for Latin America and check if we are correct (off course weare going to take the hypothesis that we are a regular medium class Colombian person that the only information that it has are the news at 7 pm while is taking its meal).
The first thing that we need ask ourselves would be what is globalization? And of course the words trade, communications and people will be the ones in the list. Let’s split those three elements an review them under the“pessimistic” profile that we will pretend to have.
Number one, and the easiest under the common view, People for tourism. In the last years we have seen how our cities have been crowded by foreigners and part of them visiting us for no political/social “good” reasons, we seen people coming for illegal drugs, sexual markets and permissive laws, our country do not have any control about who is passing ourboundaries and which are the reasons why they are visiting us…… Everybody can agree that this is not the face of globalization that we want and…. One moment, one moment, we need to stop here and see the other face of the coin. What about the people that comes to see how good is the life here or those that comes to make business with us, and that others that believes that we can exchange cultureand grow in a common knowledge and even that people that believe that this is a paradise and never want to leave? Hummmmm it seems this is not the case where the globalization for Latin America is a not desire thing.
Number two (for sure here we will find the problem), communications. Let’s take the most popular communication channel where we can see the globalization, Internet. Now you canaccess all type of contents through a computer and be at any place in the world. BUT this tool is filled by pornography, violence and all different kind of information without any filter; where a young kid can access any site even considering that approximately 60% of the pages are for explicit porn or that can be cheated in its good intentions and….. Ok, ok, let’s stop again, we need to see the thingsfrom the correct point of view, the fact that Internet has a full access to everything doesn’t mean that is bad, the responsibility is from the people accessing those information and in the case of children the parents are those who should look forward in order to give the best use of this resources. The internet and all types of communication with the world only bring culture, knowledge, newways to interact, open the barriers and connects the people. This is the moment of the information and the open opinions, now we don’t need to wait for months to receive information, because the information is just there and it only takes the time to push a button. Again I believe we made a mistake by judging the globalization with the communications.
Finally…. Last and critical topic, Trade. If wesee trade cannot bring any advantage, since we are open to the world we receive products and services from everywhere and the consequences are that we are losing our jobs and the rates of consumption have been increased due the entrance of new products that in main of the cases we don’t really need. Even more important, our countries are exporting and depleting its treasures, the gold, the coal,the water, etc… But again… We need to stop, the international trade has bring wealth and advance to our countries, our natural resources that we don’t use can be exported and bring money to our bank accounts, the international trade has make us more competitive and innovative, our countries are growing and nobody can object that now we can have the latest technology almost at the same time than...
