ANODIZED ALUMINUM
INTRODUCTION
The use of aluminum and its alloys, is a fortunate solution anti-corrosion compared with corrosive resistance since it has a higher than usual for other metals.There are three basic properties that explain the extensive use of aluminum:
• Its low density.
• High mechanical strength obtained.
• High corrosion resistance of pure metal.
Thisresistance to corrosion of aluminum itself is due to the peculiarity of being an element with high affinity to oxygen, which causes the metal to be coated exposed to water of a very thin native oxide thatprotects the environment, given dielectric and insulating character.
Though protection methods are many, the most widespread is the anodizing treatment, the quality of the finish and the wide rangeof applications possessing; such as architecture, aviation, and other thermal insulation.
DESCRIPTION ANODIZING PROCESS

Anodizing is an electrolytic process whereby the natural protective oxidefilm that appears on the surface of aluminum and its alloys is thicker. The anode is of aluminum and the cathode is usually an aluminum foil in an electrolytic cell, when passing current, instead ofoxygen at the anode is released as a gas, is combined with aluminum to form an oxide layer porous aluminum.

All alloys in the aluminum extrusions can be anodized. However, in all cases theresults obtained are obtained as expected.
The anode layer may vary in color and density. You can also vary the use that will be given.
The material to be anodized should be treated as soon as possibleafter being extruded, preferably within the next twelve hours. During this interval slightly paper must cover, and must be stored in an area where there are no variations in temperature and humidityenvironment.
