SURE-LINER System / Sistema SURE-LINER
The Sure-Liner process involves the insertion of a tight-fitting plastic liner pipe inside of a host pipe, thereby taking advantage of the mechanical
strength of the host pipecombined with the abrasion and corrosion resistance of the plastic liner pipe. The liner pipe’s physical properties are
defined and specified in accordance with the characteristics of the product being conveyed by the pipeline. Because of its interference-fit design,
the liner pipe is radially compressed (rolled down) to reduce its outside diameter during the insertion process. The insertionlengths can vary
from short pull lengths to long pull lengths in excess of 1,000 meters (3,300 feet), depending on the pipe diameter and topographical contour
of the pipeline.
El sistema Sure-Liner consiste en la inserción comprimida de un tubo plástico, auto-soportante, dentro de una cañería matriz de acero;
aprovechando así la resistencia mecánica del acero y la resistencia a la abrasión ycorrosión brindada por el plástico. Las especificaciones del
tubo plástico son definidas según los parámetros de la aplicación y las características del fluido conducido. Los tramos de inserción de este
sistema suelen ser de longitudes muy largas entre bridas de acople (acceso de inserción), obedeciendo a parámetros como la topografía del
terreno y diámetro de la cañería a revestir.

Roll-DownTechnology / Tecnología Roll-Down
The Roll-Down method involves the radial compression of the plastic liner pipe by passing it through a series of roller reduction panels during
the insertion process without yielding the plastic material. This diameter reduction is necessary given that the plastic liner pipe has an O.D.
larger than that of the host pipe’s I.D. Once installed, the plastic linerexpands within the host pipe and is virtually anchored in place. This process
provides for an extremely tight fitting and stable plastic liner system.
La tecnología Roll-Down involucra la compresión radial del tubo plástico durante su inserción en la cañería de acero utilizando equipos
especialmente diseñados para este proceso, ya que el tubo plástico, en su estado original, tiene un diámetroexterno mayor al diámetro interno
de la cañería matriz. El proceso Roll-Down comprime radialmente el tubo plástico en varias etapas, aprovechando las propiedades elásticas
del material sin exceder los límites de fluencia. Una vez insertado, el tubo plástico se expande y queda aprisionado (ajustado) dentro de la
cañería de acero.

Posi-Seal Flange Connection / Conexión Posi-Seal
Field-installedinternal pipe lining systems normally require multiple access points by means of flange connections for the insertion of the
liner pipe. Although the Sure-Liner system minimizes these access points due to the extremely long pull sections, it is still essential to utilize
a failsafe high pressure flange design. The Posi-Seal connection is an advanced design flange connection that utilizesmultiple self-energized
seals, thereby assuring an extremely effective and trouble free connection.
