AUSTRALIA CURRENCY
The Australian dollar (sign: $; code: AUD) is the currency of the Commonwealth of Australia, including Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and Norfolk Island, as well asthe independent Pacific Island states of Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu. Within Australia it is almost always abbreviated with the dollar sign ($), with A$ sometimes used to distinguish it fromother dollar-denominated currencies. It is subdivided into 100 cents.
The Australian dollar is, as of 2012, the third-most-traded currency in the world.
FLAG AND SHIELD
The coat of arms of Australia (formallyknown as Commonwealth Coat of Arms) is the official symbol of Australia. The initial coat of arms was granted by King Edward VII on 7 May 1908, and the current version was granted by King George V on19 September 1912, although the 1908 version continued to be used in some contexts, notably appearing on the sixpenny coin until 1966.
The flag of Australia is a defaced Blue Ensign: a blue fieldwith the Union Flag in the canton (upper hoist quarter), and a large white seven-pointed star known as the Commonwealth Star in the lower hoist quarter. The fly contains a representation ofthe Southern Cross constellation, made up of five white stars – one small five-pointed star and four, larger, seven-pointed stars.
AUSTRALIA’S ANTHEM
"Advance Australia Fair" is the official nationalanthem of Australia. Created by the Scottish-born composer, Peter Dodds McCormick, the song was first performed in 1878, but did not gain its status as the official anthem until 1984. Until then, the song wassung in Australia as a patriotic song.
The lyrics of the anthem officially adopted in 1984 are as follows:

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soiland wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
