Astrology is a pseudoscience that pretends to know and predict the
future of people based in the position and movements of the stars like the
sun, moon and the planets. Peoplewho practice astrology say that the
position of these stars perform a great influence in their personality traits,
the important events of their lives and even more their physicalcharacteristics. Nowadays, the vast scientific community consider it a
pseudoscience due the absent of the scientific method use.

One of the arguments common used against the astrology is thatastrologer’s statements became obsolete long ago. In fact, most astrologers
talk about twelve zodiacal signs, better said twelve constellations, when
actually there are thirteen constellations that thesun runs in its passage
through the ecliptic. This missing constellation is called Ofiuco. It is not
recognized within the zodiac because it was far away of the ecliptic, even
when it wasalready known in antiquity when astrology rules were
formulated.

Also, it has not been demonstrated that the stars have any astrological
influence in people. The only proven influence thatsome celestial bodies
perform in people, specially, the closer ones can be physical, for example the
gravitational attraction leaving out the apparent possibility of directing
someone’s life.However, the gravitational force exerted by the doctor on a
newborn, to help in childbirth, is about six times higher than Mars Planet.

Many people have been disappointed again and again due ofthe
repetitive failures of the predictions of astrology. One example is that a
psychologist of the Michigan University revised dates of birth of 2978
marriages and 478 divorces in that state.Astrologers sustain that they can
predict personal compatibility or incompatibility between zodiacal signs. The
