German composer, born in Bonn, received the rudiments of piano from his father, who aspired to become a new Mozart. After their training was entrusted to somefamily friends, among whom was Christian Gottlob Neefe, who taught piano and background music theory. Thanks to his master, established relationships with the cultural elite of Bonn. Her first concert tourwas made in 1781 at Rotterdam. In 1784 he became a permanent member of the Chapel of the Elector Maximilian Franz, protector of young talent. In 1787 and 1792 took place his trips to Vienna withMozart. Production in Bonn include numerous lieder and piano pieces, highlighting the three sonatas dedicated to Prince Elector, three quartets and a Concerto in E flat major of which only the solo part,and a fragment of Violin Concerto in C more, a trio for flute and bassoon, an octet for wind in E flat major, music for a ballet and two cantatas imperial knighthood.

He decided to settle in Vienna,a city of great musical environment where the nobles held their own orchestras, wind ensembles and string quartets. He expanded his knowledge with Haydn, Schenk, Albrechtsberger and Salieri. Theyquickly became known for his masterful piano playing and his compositions.
