Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Miles, Saint Ann, Jamaica, to Norval Marley and Cedella Booker. His father was a Jamaican of English descent. His mother was a black teenager. Thecouple planned to get married but Norval left Kingston before this could happen. Norval died in 1955, seeing his son only once.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann (Jamaica). He grewup in the Kingston ghetto of Trenchtown, where he met other young people attracted by the music. In 1961 she recorded her first title you can not find success, but Bob continues to invest in music. In1964 he founded with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, the group will be known later as "The Wailers".The group signed a contract with a production house, but Bob, in search of spirituality breaks thegroup dynamics in 1966 by marriage and then start working in the United States where he took courses in theology.
In 1968, sensing the end, he is back home and start making a name in particular, throughtheir texts on topics such as peace, unity, social justice, poverty and the history of Africa. The group signed with the Island label and released their first albums in the early '70s.

Hijo de Cedella Booker, una mujer africana de 18 años y de un blanco de 50 años capitán de la armada llamado Norval Marley. Afinales de los años cincuenta, se trasladó con su madre a Kingston, la capital. 

Grabó su primer disco cuando contaba 16 años "Judge Not". En 1963, se forman los Wailers un grupo que por aquel entoncesse dedicaba al ska con Marley, Bunny Livingstone, y Peter Tosh. Su primera canción "Simmer Down" fue número uno en Jamaica. En el año 1966, Haile Sellasie visitó Jamaica y Bob y los Wailers sehacen Rastafaris.
