Book Report of 1984

1984 is one of the most important works of the first halve of the 20th century, it was a vision of George Orwell of what he thought the world was going to be as in the year1984 ( he had the vision in 1949). The book most important topics, are the politics, the society and in a second plane also takes into account the confidence between two people as Winston and Julia.The vision of Orwell was of an utopist society with a totalitarian government. Our achievement is to compare and contrast this Oceania with an actual totalitarian society. I think the best actualexample for this is the North Korea, a country that is isolated from the world with an eternal dictatorship.
First of all there is necessary to know the definition of totalitarian: " Characterized by agovernment in which the political authority exercises absolute and centralized control"; "a totalitarian regime crushes all autonomous institutions in its drive to seize the humansoul"(websters-online-dictionary.org). Oceania was a society that had all to do with this definition Orwell's Utopia was a place of no liberty, people here were totally observed, there was no liberty, information wasnever knew and people were as puppets for big leaders of the society, there was not a true identity, there were screens all along the city and people were not allow to argue about anything because thegovernment had the entire authority. In the other hand we have the North Korea, in actuality live or been a north Korean is a nightmare, people are not allow to leave the country, they arepractically isolated from the world and the dictator has all the power over them, he manages the propaganda and the publicity, people are not allow to talk, the nation is of the government.
I think bothsocieties are really closed and isolated, but in my own opinion, I think Orwell's society is long way worse than North Korea because even though liberty of expression was not take in to account in both...
