Effects of bullying on children and adolescents

Bullying is a phenomenon that occurs in almost all schools and institutions. Mostly affected are children, pre-teens and teens. It is based mainlyon the psychological, physical and verbal among school produced repetitively over a period of time, often months or years. Physical characteristics are those that explain the bullying. No, a studentor not necessarily become victim to possess certain physical characteristics, such as overweight, wear glasses, dress differently, speak dialects. (Charlot, 2002) The victim can often developpsychological problems in the future, eating disorders, fear, and in extreme cases even suicide.

In most of the time there is only one attacker, but joins a group of children that support such violence,perhaps a not so direct but equally humiliating for the victim. They mock the victim, insult, make cyber bullying and sometimes even physically abused. Bullying, in one aspect affects mainly thedevelopment of any person, especially their self-esteem. Many think that the child will be Bullying makes it stronger. False, children who make bullying over time are also insecure children suffering fromhigh and low emotional states that develop in them posttraumatic symptoms of depression. (Charlot, 2002)

Self-esteem is affected in all cases of bullying and low self-esteem further sufferingoriginate, and psychological illnesses, depression, neurosis, and dissatisfactions a series of painful situations, such as shyness, shame and fear. Bullying is one of the problems we need to address inschools. Bullying has many consequences on the lives of young people, and especially that of the victim, these consequences can affect your entire future and life project.
