THE NIGHTINGALE AND THE ROSE
There was upon a time a student in his garden…
- Aline said she would dance with me if I wore red roses exclaimed the young student - but there is not a single red rose in my entire garden.
From his nest the nightingale heard him, and looked through the leaves and was surprised.
- There´s not a single red rose in all my garden!! -Exclaimed the student and hisbeautiful eyes filled with tears- Ah, of which little things does happiness depend! I have read everything I got about love and all the secrets and tricks of love are mine, however, does not have a red rose, my life have become miserable.
- Here at last is a true lover, said the Nightingale.
- Night by night I had sung about her, but however I don’t knew her, night after night I have told hisloneliness to the stars, and now I'm seeing. His hair is dark as the hyacinth flower and her lips as red as the rose of his wishes, but passion has made his face look pale ivory, and sorrow has set her label upon his head.

- The Prince gives a party tomorrow at night muttered the student, and my dear will be among the guests. If I bring her a red rose she will dance with me till the morning, aftershe will hold me in her arms and will rest her head on my shoulder, and his hand will be holding the mine. But there is not a single red rose in my garden, so, I'll be sitting alone, and she will be dancing with another one. If I don’t dance with Aline that night… I will have all my wishes broken as my heart…
- Here is certainly true lover, 'said the Nightingale.

- What I sing is hurtinghim; what is happiness for me… is pain for him. Truly love is wonderful, is more precious than emeralds, and more expensive than fine opals. You can buy it with pearls or cars, or for sale on the market, they can’t buy the merchants, nor can weigh in the balance weight in gold.
- The musicians will sit in their gallery, 'said the young student, and will play their stringed instruments, and my lovewill dance to the sound of the harp and violin. Will dance so lightly that her feet do not rub against the ground, and the gentlemen of the court, with their bright costumes, are all around her. But she won’t dance with me because I won’t bring any red rose to give her.
And he threw himself on the grass, and he put his hands on his face to start to cry about his girl... The only thing that was byhis side was a little chocolate with a letter… she loves chocolate.
- Why are you crying? Asked a butterfly which was flying under the sunlight .
- Yeah, why? -Said a little flower called gannet.
- Yes, why? Whispered a dog to his neighbor… the student, his voice soft and low.
- He is crying for a red rose, 'said the Nightingale
- For a red rose! That's ridiculous!
And the lizard thatwas a cynic, laughed outright.
But the Nightingale understood the secret about the pain of the student, and remained quiet perched in the oak, and thought about the mystery of love.
Suddenly he opened her brown wings for flight over the garden. He passed through the garden like a shadow, and like a shadow flew across garden with any sound that may be heard. In the middle of the lawn grew abeautiful rose, and seeing he flew and landed on a branch.
- Give me a red rose -the nightingale said- and I will sing you my sweetest song.
But the Tree shook his head with the movement of a NOT!.
- My roses are white -he said- as white as the clouds of the spring, and whiter than the snow on the mountain. But go to see my brother who climbs around the old sundial and maybe give you what you want. Sothe Nightingale flew to the Rose-tree that was growing up around the old sundial.
- Give me a red rose -he said- and I will sing you my sweetest song.
But the Tree shook his head.
- My roses are yellow, 'he said, as yellow as the hair of Britney Spears and yellower than the America’s logo. But go to see my brother who grows beneath the window of the student, and perhaps give you what you...
