60's.The 60's was without a doubt the decade where music most evolved. Who can forget Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds ? they were all people who were interested inmusic and were dedicated and determined to improve it. This movement, that begun in the 50's with Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, etc., began a whole new generation.The 50s were the goldenage of rock and roll and adolescents were the new invention for advertisers. The influence of the new youth culture became aparent in films like (Blackboard Jungle, 1955), where the epic hit “RockAround the Clock” was used as soundtrack . Elvis Presley made his debut on American television in 1956 on The Tommy Dorsey Show and thereafter acted in several films: Love Me Tender (1956), Jailhouse Rock(1957), Loving You (1957) and King Creole (1958 ). Jayne Mansfield, every mans desire in the 50's, starred in “The Girl Can't Help It” (1957.)The 50s witnessed the birth of the youth culture. Teensrebelled against the wishes of their parents and created their own way of life. Of course, such an event had to have its own ground breaking soundtrack: "rock & roll". Elvis Presley became thefirst idol of masses of one type of music that evolved dramatically over the following decades and was carried on by British artists.
