Christopher Columbus a hero or a villain?

Today people started questioning about if Christopher Columbus made a great discovery, or if he just bring tragedy, diseases, suffering, and war toAmerica. Well my opinion is that he is a completely villain. Many other people think that he was the most important hero in whole history, but I think they are all wrong and I´m about to prove it. Why dopeople think Columbus is a hero? Or just because he discovered the “New World”? You think he would be the ONLY one who could have discovered America?
Well my opinion is that just because hiscoincidence of arriving to a “New World” and interrupting their peaceful country doesn’t make you a hero. A hero is one who brings improvement to the world. When he arrived he named the Native AmericansIndians because of Indies, but I think this is a way of discriminating and stereotyping people without a reason. The next time you think about Christopher Columbus think about a liar, a torturer, anabuser, cruel and a killer of millions of Native Americans!
Since 1492 when Columbus arrived, the Arawak Indians were forced to slavery, doing things they didn´t wanted to do. They were peaceful personsbut he made the Arawak hate them. Christopher Columbus only wanted silver and gold. He said to Native Americans that if they didn’t gave him what he wanted they would cut their hands and they woulddied of bleeding, they also killed them for fun or just to try on their new weapons. Because of the terrifying punishments they received they preferred to commit suicide instead of being tortured.
Doyou think that only thinking that he was a great man we should all thank him? Should we thank a person who “discovered a New World”, while he was only a villain? We can´t thank him it would be likethanking a man who just arrived to our house and starts getting off all our privileges and worst, starts killing us! This is just insane.
