Description
The DPE Scholars Award supports students’ participation in academic, professional and/or leadership
activities. This includes, but is not limited to: conferences, service learning trips, research opportunities, and membership fees for engineering professional and/or academic associations.
Requirements
To be considered for a DPE Scholars Award, students must be in good academic standing as well as affiliated with and in good standing with one or more of the following DPE sponsored programs:
Engineering Summer Scholars Program
Ryan Scholars Program
LSAMP Scholars Program Cornell Sloan, Colman, GEM, Sage, or Luce Fellowship Programs
Award
Students who meet the requirements may apply for a maximum award of $500/per academic year including the summer – i.e. the fall 2011‐12 academic year and the summer of 2012. The exception is for
Luce Fellows whose fellowships include a higher scholars award budget. Awards are not guaranteed and are considered on a case‐by‐case basis.
Details
Award applications are subject to the approval of the Director of Diversity Programs in Engineering. If
approved, DPE staff will coordinate the distribution of the award with you.
