REMINDER

Dear teachers, remember that class observation will begin this week, please review this document with the activities to be evaluated in class, and let meknow today the schedule for the first visit.

Warm up activities: as you know we use them to awaken Ss interest, find out their previous knowledge, motivate and get familiar with the new topic, as wellas to review learnt contents, for example: a tale, a chant, a video or a brainstorm activity.)
Development activities: through these activities Ss get in contact with contents, tasks, pronunciation,structures and vocabulary; the new topic is presented by means of real objects, flashcards, story cards, etc, then Ss are encouraged to imitate individual and collectively ; that is why it’s soimportant at this point to correct them to ensure a correct learning; once they have imitated, they are given the chance to practice (oral and written) the introduced target structures and vocabulary bythemselves, first by means of CONTROLLED ACTIVITIES in order to make Ss memorize and assimilate the new contents; for example: repetitions, short dialogues in pairs, etc; after that they are givenGUIDED ACTIVITIES such as Simon Says…. , questionnaires, follow instructions, sequencing pictures,, WORKSHEETS, writing sentences, guided role plays, etc.
This step ends with activities which give theopportunity to put in practice in a creative way what they have learnt without the control of the teacher (FREE PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES), for example: Ss create new dialogues, talk and write aboutthemselves, likes, animals, interviews, communicative games, etc.
CONSOLODATION OR WRAP UP ACTIVITIES: these are used to realize ourselves as teachers about our lesson, to find out which Ss needreinforcement or if I can challenge them more about the topic. (a project for example).
EXTENSION OR EXTRA ACTIVITIES: they help us keep going further with Ss who have assimilated contents briefly and do...
