When selecting the topic for our essay, it seemed to us that it would be interesting to work with Education considering that it is one of the institutions in which human beingsspend most of his life. Apart from comparing the British educational system with the Argentinean one, we found it useful to add the American system of education in order to make a more complete comparison. Considering our common knowledge and the fact that we live in a globalised world, we can see that although the Argentinean, British and American systems of education are different, they share anumber of aspects.

By means of this work we pretend to get a more accurate insight about the reality of each system and, at the same time, be able to find similarities and differences among them. This will allow us to understand how each of them work. It is important to take into account that the main reason why these educational systems can be completely different is that they depend on abigger system called Society. Because of this, we should know that not only a society is fed by what happens inside schools but also schools receive the influence of the former. For this reason, we can see that each generation leaves its legacy to the following one by means of education. This has to do with cultural transmission of values and knowledge that makes a community, or in this case a country, different from the rest.
