My other and my father were born in the middle of the twenty-century. This Year they will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary.Many times in my life I had wonder how it is possible that two person with notable differences in their personalities, could have such a good relation. My father was a skinny tall man, while my mother isa robust short woman. I remember my father was a quiet person; he was a man of few words. My mother, in the other hand, is a turned on radio. Although my father was a math-physics theorist; He wasunable to control his budged. My mother was the iron fist administrator of the family; she was always in control of the money.

It always called my attention how different were my mother and myfather. My mother, Nora, is a short four and a half feet tall woman. She is white, Caucasian, and fatty. My father, Federico, was a six feet plus tall man; tan skin, mixed Caucasian-Latin, and skinny. It isfunny to remember that together they look like a number ten.

My mother is an outgoing, extroverted character. She always is making new friends; at the supermarket, at the gas station, in a plain,or the cap driver. She has the unstoppable impulse of talking, of expressing her opinions and asks for the opinion of others. In the other hand my father was a quite man, his mouth opened just to saywhat the good manners obligates him to say. One could expend a whole day with my father sharing two or three phrases with him.

My father was some how disconnected from the common world, his mindwas always working on his theories and numbers. My mother in the other side of the coin is a extremely down to earth person. A woman of facts a reality, she was in charge of financial planning andbudgeting of the family. While my father didn’t have an idea of how much we spend on food, my mother could remember the variation of the price of the tomatoes in the last year, or how much money we spend...
