1.- Aluminium fins (k=170 W/m.K) are commonly used to dissipate heat form electronics devices. An example of such a fin shown in the accompaning figure. UsingAnsys, determine the temperature distribution within the fin. The base of the fin experiences a constant flux of q= 1000 W/m. A fan forces air over the surfaces of the fin. The temperature of thesorrounding air is 20°C with a corresponding heat transfer coefficient of h= 40W/m2.K

2.- A suspension of hard-disc drive (HDD) has many resonant frequencies with various vibration modes and it is said that the vibration mode with large radial displacementcauses the tracking error. So the suspension has to be operated with frequencies of less than resonant frequency.
a) Obtain the resonant frequencies and determine the vibration mode with thelarge radial displacement of the HDD suspension.
b) Find the displacement of the first 3 modes when a 0.01N force is applied at the bottom of the suspension when it tracks the hard disc.Material: Steel
Thickness: 0.05 x 10 -3m
Density: 7500 Kg/m3
Boundary condition: All freedoms are constrained at hte edege of a hole formed in the suspension.
