Conectores en ingles

1) Los conectores copulativos son aquellos que unen algo a lo ya mencionado. Algunos de ellos son: and / not only ... but also ... / both ... and .../ no sooner ... than.
and - y
He played the guitar and sang wonderful songs. El tocó la guitarra y cantó maravillosas canciones.

not only...but also... - no sólo...sino también...
Mary plays not only the guitar but also the violin. Mary nosólo toca la guitarra sino también el violín.

not only...but...as well - no sólo...sino...también
She is not only beautiful but very intelligent as well. Ella no sólo es hermosa sino que es muy inteligente también.

both...and... - tanto...como... / ambas cosas
Many politicians desire both money and power. Muchos políticos desean tanto dinero como poder.

no sooner...than... -apenas...cuando...
The baker had no sooner turned off the oven than the last customers arrived.
El panadero apenas había apagado el horno cuando llegaron los últimos clientes.

2) Los conectores disyuntivos indican elección, separan o diferencian dos términos. En inglés, algunos de ellos son: or, either ... or .../ neither ... nor .../else / otherwise.
or - o
We'd better leave right now or we'll miss ourbus.
Es mejor que nos vayamos ahora o perderemos el autobús.

either...or... - o...o...
Either you shut your mouth and listen or you leave the class.

3) Los conectorescondicionales son aquellos que indican condición para la realización de algo. Algunos de ellos son: if, whether, unless, provided, as long as, in case, in case of.
if - si
What shall we do, if they don't accept the offer?
¿Qué haremos si ellos no aceptan la oferta?

whether - si
I don't know whether they will agree on that subject.
No sé si ellos estarán de acuerdo en ese tema.

unless - a menosque
You won't pass the exam unless you study harder.

4) Los conectores concesivos se utilizan para señalar una objeción o reparo a lo dicho anteriormente. Entre otros encontramos: although, even if, despite, in spite of, regardless of.
although / though / even though - aunque, a pesar de que, si bien
AlthoughJack is not very tall, he is excellent at basketball.
Aunque Jack no es muy alto, es excelente en el baloncesto.

even if - incluso si, si bien, aún si
