Configuração Estrutural Do Campo Científico Em Estudos Organizacionais No Brasil: O Período 1997-2007

From the proposition that knowledge is socially and historically produced, we sought to revisit Organizational Studies area in order to investigate in what way the relationship path between thenational authors’ publication profile, themes and the epistemological perspective included in the articles they produced influenced structure of the field in Brazil during the period that goes from 1997 to2007. Institutional theory was adopted as theoretical board with structurationist logics. The study delimitation was descriptive-qualitative with longitudinal analysis extent. To reach that, it wasused documental research method characterizing a study-target and content analysis for data treatment. 1791 articles and 1583 authors were analyzed. From the articles the most broached themes weresurveyed and epistemological perspectives. The authors were categorized in continuants, transients, one-timers, newcomers and terminators. The source for data collection was the annals of EnANPAD andEnEO, and the most important brazilian journals: BAR, O&S, RAC, RAC-electronic, RAE, RAE-electronic, RAP, RAUSP and REAd. The results show that although the area production had increased significantly involume, qualitatively this change has been slowly modified. The data show that the area has been facing changes that support the field, by the incorporation of epistemological perspectives and bythemes, which intention is to solve the new questions of organizational analysis. The epistemological perspectives gained representativeness: interpretativist, critical studies, critical theory,structurationist and structuralist. But the epistemological base is still predominantly functionalist, with descriptive studies. Some themes emerged and are among the most researched: Institutionalization andFields, Diversity and Gender and Network and Confidence, the first one presented the quantitative increment.
