In Mexico February 5, is celebrated the day which was promulgated the Constitution which currently governs the country, this being the maximum law. The official name of ourConstitution is the Constitution of the United States Mexican; It is also called basic law or Charter Magna.La first proper Mexican Constitution is that of 1824, since it discards all kinds of foreign lawand proclaims the absolute exercise of sovereignty. But before this there were various laws which include: the Spanish Constitution of 1812, "feelings of the nation", José María Morelos, and theconstitutional decree for the liberty of Mexican America, or Constitution of Apatzingán, 1814.Tras the revolutionary movement headed by Juan Alvarez and which concluded with the signing of the Plan deAyutla in which the Government of Santa Anna was unknown, convened an extraordinary Congress, meeting in the city of Mexico in February 1856. A year later, on February 5, 1857, the new Constitution wasapproved by the Constituent Congress and President Ignacio Comonfort, this Constitution says maintenance of federalism, the abolition of slavery, freedom of labour, of property, of expression of ideas,printing press, Association, request and trade. Similarly, sets that citizens are with right to vote all Mexicans boys who have attained 18 years if they are married and 21 if they are not; but thisfailed to stabilize the country. The own Comonfort acknowledged it a few months after its enactment, to join the rebellion of Ignacio Zuloaga, give a coup and imprisoning several citizens, includingBenito Juárez, then President of the Supreme Court of Justice and who legally had the Presidency in such a case. The rebellion ended in the so-called three-year war or war of reform, amongconservatives who were unaware of the Constitution and the Liberals who advocated it.Then, the Liberals, headed by Benito Juárez, triumphed.
