Summary about the book: “Insider Apple” by Adam Lashinsky

INTRODUCTION

In such a way, the book of Lashinsky has provided the public with the different opinions from former employees or executives from Apple, Fortune, Forbes interviews and perceptions from a consumer perspective of what always had been expected from a company like Apple.
The book clearly talks about the several and strictmethods used and controlled by Steve Jobs himself in order to create what today seems to be the most market valuable enterprise worldwide.
In other words, what you will find in this book, is the mix of opinions, advices, hallway talks, rumors, and stories of those who sometime were part of this incredible machine of ideas and innovation.
Some of the people that actually talks about Apple in thisbook, wish they could go back to be part of the success while some others are just proud to have left the company due to the harsh responsibilities and expectations from the closed group of decision makers.
It is like an off-the record radiography of Apple, what the organizational culture looks like, what is it to become a part of the loved EPMs or GSMs in the logistics and packing area. It alsorelates how the “Micromanagement” system of Steve Jobs allowed the company to be driven through the patterns of perfection. Everything had to be examined at least twice in order to pass the test, every single and small detail matters there. Secrecy is a priority for everyone whether is your first day there or if it’s your 10th anniversary within the company.
It all surrounds the perfection andsatisfies not the consumer needs but their imaginary expectations. Jobs knew he wanted to change the World by challenging the status quo and being able to develop the new methods of communication within human nature upon this moment.
This book’s main subject is to transport you through the several tunnels and inner characteristics of the World’s most popular enterprise. It describes exactly whatemployees might be living in there and how they deal with the constant evolution of the technology and communications market. And furthermore, they deal with a new spiritual institution called Steve Jobs Legacy which will stay among them for several years.
The “Inside Apple” book provides you with a certain number of decisions that made Apple struggle in the past and that made it become a rolemodel in the competitive business era of our days; even though its core business culture contradicts any business school-taught theory of success.

The Best Chapter
Personally I believe that second chapter becomes the best chapter of the whole book, specifically because I truly consider this to be one of the strongest columns that provide Apple with success and security; I am talking about howApple employees embrace secrecy.
Whenever a human is told a secret, its first reaction is to go and spread it anywhere it can be heard or seen. Opposite to this happens in Apple, where protecting a secret can be a vital mission just as the ones projected by Ian Flemming’s James Bond stories.
Lashinsky assured in his book that employees even struggle in their personal lives for keeping the company’ssecrets secure and begin to be unhappy or antisocial. According to his research and surveys to former executives, inside Apple, it is strictly forbidden to talk about what is being done or developed within the company’s secret Labs.
As it is seen in the writings, disclosure from individuals is required in order to be allowed to talk within four wall meetings, where windows don’t exist andnothing goes in or out whenever they gather there.
It is incredible how serious employees take the company’s mission and adopt a high level commitment of becoming part of the success even if they don’t have a life outside. Another remarkable thing about this chapter is to know, according to their testimonies, that their ID badges one day can have access to certain areas and other days the access...
