The carbon cycle

is the set of chemical transformations of compounds containing carbon exchange between biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere. It is a majorbiogeochemical cycle in regulating Earth's climate, and in it are involved in sustaining basic activities of life. The Carbon is an essential component of plants and animals. Part of compounds such asglucose, carbohydrate important to carry out processes such as breathing, is also involved in photosynthesis in the form of CO2 as found in the atmosphere.

Water Cycle

Water exists on Earth in threestates: solid (ice, snow), liquid and gas (water vapor). Oceans, rivers, clouds and rain are in constant change: the surface water evaporates, cloud water precipitates, rainfall seeps into the ground,etc.. However, the total amount of water on the planet does not change. The circulation and conservation of water on Earth is called the hydrologic cycle or water cycle.

Sulfur Cycle

The sulfuris part of protein. Plants and other primary producers get it mostly in form of sulfate ion. Organisms that eat these plants incorporate it into protein molecules, and thus goes to the upper trophiclevel organisms. When organisms die, sulfur derived from its protein enters the sulfur cycle and comes to be transformed so that plants can use them again as sulfate ion.
The exchange of sulfur, mostly in the form of sulfur dioxide, performed between aquatic and terrestrial communities, one way and another in the atmosphere, rocks and ocean sediments, where sulfur is stored. The atmospheric SO2dissolves in water from rain or deposited as dry steam. Local recycling of sulfur, mainly as sulfate ion, is performed in both cases. A portion of hydrogen sulfide, produced during the local recyclingof sulfur, is oxidized and forms SO2.

Nitrogen Cycle

The nitrogen cycle is becoming one of the biological and abiotic processes that underpin the supply of this element to living beings. One of...
