Deborah Hautzig
Nació en Nueva York y creció en el Upper West Side. Se graduó de la Escuela de Chapin y publicó su primera novela: “HEY, DollFace” (Hey, Rostro de Muñeca) en 1978, siendo aún estudiante en el Sarah Lawrence College. “The Second Star to the Right” (Segunda Estrella a la Derecha) en 1981, fue finalista del National Book Award en 1982. “Segunda estrella a la derecha” fueoriginalmente Publicado en tapa dura por los libros de Greenwillow en 1981, y ha tenido varias ediciones de bolsillo (Avon Books, Knopf). Fue reeditado En 1999 por Penguin Putnam, con un epílogo del autor. Ambas novelas han sido traducidas a seis idiomas.

Ella es la autora de docenas de libros para niños, entre ellos nueve libros de brujita, un personaje que ella creó y que hizo su debut en 1984,diecinueve re-narraciones de gran prestigio de los cuentos de hadas clásicos e historias, treinta y tres libros de Sesame Street, dos libros BRAINQUEST, los así como muchos otros títulos bien conocidos.

Ha escrito reseñas de libros de The New York Times, contribuyó a colecciones de poesía, y dos de sus libros brujita fueron adquiridos Por Sony Wonder y se convierte en un video en el 1999.Actualmente, Deborah Hautzig vive en Nueva York al lado de su Esposo y su hija de quince años de edad.
