* Objective:
-Compare the magnetic field intensity of different magnets.
-Sketch a graph that will compare different magnetic fields.
-Understand the relationship of a magnetic field to thematerial a magnet is made out of.
* Hypothesis: I don´t think that al magnets have the same magnetic field. All magnets are different and their magnetic field doesn’t depend on the size, form or weightthey have, also the magnet could lose their force by getting broke, by the pass of the time and if the magnet is in a place very hot, so the magnetic field force is not based on the size or shape ofthe magnet. I think that the strongest magnet is the little magnet (C) and that the weakest magnet is the large one (A) and that the little one (B) is the intermediate. To test the force of themagnetic field we have to place a rule and use the Vernier Magnetic Field Sensor and each certain cm move the magnet to see how big their magnetic field is.
* Materials:
* 3 Different Magnets.
*1 Vernier Magnetic Field Sensor.
* 1 Ruler.
* Lab Quest.
* Procedure:
1. First we place a bar magnet beside the ruler. We determine the S- Pole by using the compass in each magnet.Then we position the S-pole and of the magnet at the 3 cm mark.
2. Then I set the switch on the magnetic Field Sensor to 6.4 mT. After that we connect the Magnetic Field Sensor to LabQuest andchoose New from the file Menu.
3. Then we set up LabQuest for data collection.
a) On the meter screen, tap Mode. Change the data-collection mode to Events with entry.
b) Then Samaria enters theName (Distance) and Units (cm). Select OK.
4. Then we had to zero the magnetic sensor.
a) First we have to make sure that the magnetic field sensor is far away from the bar magnet.
b)Then Ivanna hold the sensor so it’s parallel to the tabletop.
c) Then when the readings screen stabilizes, we choose Zero from the sensor menu.
5. We started the data collection.
