1 How aggressively should Blockbuster move into selling video game players, games, and accessories versus its past focus on rentals? Why do you think it was slow to enter the DVD sales market?Blockbuster needs to move quickly into selling video games, accessories, consoles and should move as aggressively as possible. At this point, their competitive advantage is declining; Netflix, DVDexpress, DVD streaming and other companies are dominating segments in the market.
Blockbuster focus on rentals is the reason that their profits are declining. The company needs to implement how to satisfythe growing demand for gaming products.
Blockbuster original business concept was a rentals, that’s why it was slow to enter the DVD sales market. Entertainment has been changing in the marketplace,narrowing blockbuster core concept.
Videogame players represent a huge customer segment that Blockbuster can no longer ignore by only providing rentals.

2 Has the Blockbuster concept lost itsnovelty in the U.S. market? Can a subscription strategy help to revive it?
The Blockbuster concept will lose its novelty in the US market if it is not changed to satisfy changing demands in themarket, they will keep some loyalty still; however, this will continue
to narrow if their strategy is not changed and expanded to provide entertainment to keep up with latest technology.
A subscriptionstrategy will not do it for blockbuster, the issue of including a subscription service now is that there are already other companies who already provide this service; there will be no differentiationbetween Blockbuster and these other providers.

3 Should Blockbuster push harder into international markets, where digital-on-demand technology is not yet available?

Globalizing the company,placing it in markets where digital-on-demand exists but as a small scale (Ex. Europeans do not watch TV as often as American people do) is not a good strategy.
