El Pollo Diablo

El Pollo Diablo, or the Giant Demon Chicken, is a mythical creature, said to have landed on Plunder Island, where he terrorizes the people. Tall as aman and twice as powerful, his massive drumsticks propel him through the dark jungle with ease. On the eve of the full moon, his blood-curdling squawkcan be heard from every corner of Plunder Island. It is believed that one day, he will roam the island, exacting terrible vengeance on those who wouldcapture and eat his smaller brethren. Captain Blondebeard believes that El Pollo Diablo is responsible for releasing his chickens from their coops,hurting his business.
During The Curse of Monkey Island, Guybrush Threepwood becomes tarred and feathered by Mr. Fossey and the Pirates of Danjer Cove,and wherever he goes the townspeople of Puerto Pollo want to kill him, except for Kenny Falmouth who simply refuses to do business with him since hecan't take him seriously.
El Pollo Diablo appears to be a legend of Spanish origin, as suggested by its name. It is also known to be capable ofcommunicating verbally, as Guybrush can utter a threat to Blondebeard in both English and Spanish. This seems to convince Blondebeard even further that Guybrushis El Pollo Diablo, enough so that the paranoid pirate chef renders him unconscious and ships him back to Mr. Fossey as fried chicken takeout.
Thegrease from the chicken bucket is strong enough to dissolve the tar holding the feathers to him, ending Guybrush's brief stint as El Pollo Diablo.
