Abstract:
It is known by all that learning a second language is nowadays essential in any
person's life. If that learning takes place from childhood, it is much more effective. If it's
also so integrated with thecurriculum, it increases the chances of success. But if we
are lucky to have a language lab, the results can be spectacular.
In this work we will try to explain some of the possibilities offered by a language lab to
work with students of primary education, different types of activities, differences with
the traditional work using a CD, etc.
Taking into account that we are in the digital age, we mustuse all the resources within
our reach to achieve a process of teaching - learning more motivating for the students
as well as more efficient for the teachers. And a laboratory of the teaching of the
English language can provide it us, if we make good use of it
In this work we see the development of the language laboratory for the time, the
problems and the advantages it provides, criticismsthat occurred to him, as such
criticism to get the language laboratory was seen as a good tool for the development of
communication skills in a foreign language, etc.
For this work we were surpassing main objective we have set, and it is “To show how
the use of the language laboratory as resource for the teaching of English produce
students a meaningful and motivating learning”. To do this,we will focus on a primary
education school which has bilingual section and a language lab.
We will indicate what a language lab is, the components that form it and the use of this
language laboratory, an essential part in which all teachers should receive training for a
right and proper use of a tool as useful as it is the language laboratory.
In addition, we look at how to use the variousactivities, the processes to follow, skills
which develop and an example of each of them done in a primary classroom. These
activities are created and designed by a teacher at all times that the use of the
language laboratory can never replace teachers.
On the other hand in this work is shown a didactic unit that uses this type of tool to see
the results that are obtained using it. In...
