Introduction
Elizabeth I - the last Tudor monarch - was born at Greenwich on 7 September 1533, the daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn.
Elizabeth succeeded to the throne on herhalf-sister's death in November 1558.
Her 45-year reign is generally considered one of the most glorious in English history.
The Queen herself was often called 'Gloriana', 'Good Queen Bess' and 'TheVirgin Queen'.
She died at Richmond Palace on 24 March 1603, having become a legend in her lifetime. The date of her accession was a national holiday for two hundred years.
Religion aspect
QueenElizabeth I was a Protestant. When she became Queen, one of the first things it was necessary for her to do was restore the Protestant Church of England.
She was relatively tolerant of religiousdifferences , avoiding systematic persecution.
Cultural Aspect
Elizabeth's reign is known as the Elizabethan era, famous above all for the flourishing of music, poetry and literature. Theelizabean era saw a great flourishing of literature, especially in the field of drama and it was led by playwrights such as William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. The queen could choose who would helpher govern. The queen had thepower to send one to prison and order executions.
Economic Aspect
England’s economy was focused on agriculture.
London became the leading center of theinternational woolen cloth trade.

The period after the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 brought new difficulties for Elizabeth that lasted the fifteen years until the end of her reign. The conflicts withSpain and in Ireland dragged on, the tax burden grew heavier, and the economy was hit by poor harvests and the cost of war. Prices rose and the standard of living fell.
Elizabeth left large debtsto her successor.
Historical Aspect
The Great Armada was one of the most important naval battles in history because by destroying almost the entire Spanish fleet, England ended Spain's domination...
