“'You'll get over it...' It's the clichés that cause the trouble. To lose someone you love is to alter your life for ever. You don't get over it because 'it' is the person youloved. The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes. How could it? The particularness of someone who mattered enough to grieve over is not erased by anyone but death. This hole inmy heart is in the shape of you and no one else can fit. Why would I want them to?”
“Live this day as if it will be your last.Remember that you will only find ''tomorrow'' on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of youryear. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again. ''Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, lovedone or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, anddo it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”
A lost dog
Wandering the streets
Not knowing why
You would run away from your little girl,
Leaving me with no father,
For you, my father,
Who should be hereTeaching me to ride a bike,
And tucking me in at night.
You harmed your body
With hurtful drugs,
Triggering you to commit dangerous actions,
Only causing more pain.
Distressed--Knowing you won't ever come back
To see your girl,
All grown up,
Losing all hope.
Learning that you did some right,
Changing your life around,
Just in time for God to say,
