Huichol

The Wixárika, also known as Huichol inhabit the central western Mexico in the Sierra Madre Occidental, mainly in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit and parts of Durango and Zacatecas.Divided into five communities, each of which is autonomous, has its own civil and religious. The Huichol ethnonym was given by the Aztecs in a derogatory manner to Wixarrikas since before the Spanish Conquest.The Wixaritaris speak a language of cora-Chol group that is closely related to the Nahua or aztecoide group. They have also been influenced by Mesoamerican, which is reflected in the Huichol has features typical of Mesoamerican linguistic area. Coras

The Coras are an ethnic group living in the mountains of Nayarit, and more precisely in the municipality of El Nayar, in the eastern stateof Nayarit (Mexico). The Cora language is an indigenous language of Mexico, and is spoken only by a part of this ethnic group.
