1- DRUGS A drug is any chemical designed to affect the human body. People might use drugs as medicine if they are sick or People might also use drugs recreationally (to havefun). These usually are illegal drugs. Some people use drugs to make themselves more productive or to help themselves.
CAUSES
Some people use drugs for spiritual or religious reasons - some Christiansuse small doses of wine (alcohol) as part of their religious ceremonies.
Some people also use drugs because they are addicted.
CONSEQUENCES
The person’s actions may be odd, irrational, inappropriate andeven destructive.
Drugs block off all sensations, the desirable ones with the unwanted.
So, while providing short-term help in the relief of pain, they also wipe out ability and alertness and muddyone’s thinking.
Side effects inlcude:
•confusion
•anxiety
•paranoia •panic attacks
•nausea •schizophrenic and psychotic behaviour
•hostile and aggressive behaviour •violence,often for no apparent reason
You might also lose the support of your family and friends along the way.
Illegal drugs generally fall under three main categories:
•Depressants •Stimulants•Hallucinogens
Depressants •heroin derivatives (with names like horse, and hammer)
STIMULANTS •cocaine (with names like C, white lady, crack)
Hallucinogens •lysergic acid diethylamide (withnames like LSD, acid)
