Museo Regional de Durango lets you know thestory state. In its 12 rooms exhibit remains paleontological objects and utensils of cultures primitive and traces that recall the periods of Spanishconquest, the struggle for independence and the epic revolutionary. There is also space for flora and fauna of this beautiful corner of Mexico.
Itsmain attractions are the section on Christ War (the conflict between the Mexican government and the church) and the collection of paintings by MiguelCabrera, one of the greatest painters in Mexico.
The headquarters of the museum is one of the most beautiful buildings
downtown. It was built in1890 to be the residence of the family of Francisco Gomez Palacio, the famous governor of the same name. The property is neoclassical style, has twofloors and three facades
French evocative lines, very fashionable at that time.
The house is known of El Aguacate, by avocado tree is in your garden.This museum reveals from when Durango was founded in the year 1563 and takes about 447 years since it was founded.
In the first part (lower partof the building) the tour come to see life in several paintings of Francisco Villa and was murdered, flora and fauna that live in the state ofDurango, the founder of this museum which was also a ruler Outstanding in our state.
