Faraday's Cage

INTRODUCTION

All over the world thunders threat to destroy electronic devices that are exposed to their force. However a scientist named Michael faraday found a pretty creative solution for thisproblem, the Faraday’s cage, which consists on a spherical device that redirects energy to the ground.

The main objective of this experiment it’s to probe that simple ideas can turn intoamazing solutions. And that every type energy can be conducted to the ground if an adequate shaped is used. The propose of this document is to inform the reader and explain what is the Faraday’s cage andhow does it work.

Although the materials used in the experiment are not commonly used the are very helpful for us to understand the reaction and the process that the experiment involves.OBJECTIVES

Faraday’s Cage
The Faraday cage effect causes the electromagnetic fieldinside a conductor in equilibrium will be zero, negating the effect of external fields. A Faraday cage is a metallic enclosure that prevents the entry or escape of an electromagnetic field (EM field).An ideal Faraday cage consists of an unbroken, perfectly conducting shell. This ideal cannot be achieved in practice, but can be approached by using fine-mesh copper screening. For best performance,the cage should be directly connected to an earth ground.
Faraday cages are used in electronic labs where stray EM fields must be kept out. This is important in the testing of sensitive wirelessreceiving equipment.
