The level of knowledge of the people who live near theriver Chillón located on the Panamerican Highway (Los Olivos near Stone Bridge) in the management of hazards such research .The solid waste is not descriptive cross with a sample is analyzed 125 North Lima residents of Olives and Stone Bridge. A survey using dichotomous questions was used. The results show that the neighbors watch as the river is polluted; 74% observed presence of recyclers; 64%observed contamination by pupils from nearby IE; 64% support the frequent use of packaged products and discarded near the river because they trust that the garbage truck is picking you up, 68% perceived their street discarded organic waste near the river; 52% are thrown witness as waste from restaurants and market. We conclude that the neighbors are aware that they are supporting major garbage inthe river, they believe that if they are not aware or are more responsible in their waste, this can bring many consequences such diseases and especially those most affected would their children and 64% have children in the family.

Se analiza el nivel de conocimiento de los pobladores que viven cerca del rio Chillón ubicado en la Panamericana Norte(Los Olivos cerca de Puente Piedra) en elmanejo de los residuos sólidos. El tipo de investigación es descriptivo no transversal, con una muestra de 125 vecinos de Lima Norte de los Olivos y Puente Piedra. Se empleó una encuesta utilizando preguntas dicotómicas.
