Foreing Object Investigation Procedure

POSSIBLE FOREIGN OBJECT INVESTIGATION PROCEDURE

OBJECTIVE
The procedure provides a guideline for investigation and actions to be taken when foreign objects were found in ingredients, WIP orproducts and when damaged fill contact surfaces were reported in the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Production Manager or Supervisor and QC are responsible to gather initial information asdetail as possible.
* Employees from all departments are responsible to provide related information, documentation and their best knowledge to QC and production Manager/Supervisor to assist theinvestigation.
* Plant Manager is responsible to provide equipment replacement part or repair and corrective action related to damaged parts or foreign object finding from part of equipment.
*Plant Manager or QC Manager are responsible of contacting vendors and make a complaint for any foreign object found inside ingredient.

REPORTING and DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURE
* Employees whofound the issue should report the incident to their supervisor.
* Lead or Supervisor should report the incident to QC in the shortest time.
* QC technician will gather all the requiredinformation from related departments and report the information on INCIDENT REPORT. Notify QC Manager.
* A copy of INCIDENT REPORT should be provided to all management.

INVESTIGATIONPROCEDURE

Foreign object found in ingredients
a) Hold the package with foreign object.
b) Determine if the foreign object can be part of in house handling of ingredient.c) If the foreign object is determined to be coming from ingredient, check the whole packaging and other package from the same batch/lot for possibility of having more pieces. Hold and rejectthe whole lot if more pieces were found.

Foreign object found in WIP or Products
a) Obtain the exact time the Foreign Object was found.
