Freddie Mercury
Farrokh Bomi Bulsara (well known as Freddie Mercury) was born in the British protectorate of Zanzibar, on september the 5th of 1946. His parents was Bomi and Jer Bulsara. At the ageof eight he was sent to study at the St. Peter’s School, a british-style boarding school for boys in Panchgani, near Bombay (now Mumbai). In this years of school, he started a band called The Hectics,they covered rock and roll artist like Cliff Richard and Little Richard, the band was active only for 4 years. He ended his studies at the age of 17, on St. Mary’s School, living with his grandmotherand his aunt.
His family moved to Feltham, Middlesex, England, due to the Zanzibar Revolution on 1964, he enrolled at Isleworth Polythechnic in West London where he studied art. He earned aDiploma in Art and Graphic Design at Ealing Art College.
He joined in two band before Queen, one was Ibex and the other, Sour Mil Sea, the two bandsended in the separation of their members. Freddie’spartner, Tim Staffel, was the singer of the band Smile, wich after Tim Staffell left Smile, Freddie joined the band and called it Queen ♥.
In his time with Queen he recorded 14 albums (when he wasstill alive) and 1 after he died (Made in Heaven, 1995). In his solo time he recorded I Can Hear Music with the name ´Larry Lurex´ and the cover of The Great Pretender (as Freddie Mercury). Also herecorded 2 solo albums, Mr. Bad Guy (1985) and (with Monserrat Caballé) Barcelona (1988).
Freddie was very shy when he wasn’t on public, as he said in an interview: “I’m alone, but not alonealone, I like to be alone with my friends” . He had a wife, Mary Austin, wich got divorced after he make public that he was gay.
In 1987, Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS, 4 years later, the november24th of 1991, he died from that disease.
