Frida´s life began an ended in México City. She was born in July 06, 1907, but she told that she had borned on July 07, 1910, which was one of many lies told about her life. At age 6,Frida was stricken with polio, which caused her right leg to appear much thinner than the other.
When Frida entered high school, she was tomboy full of mischief, who became the ringleader of arebellious group of mainly boys. There she meets Diego Rivera, the famous Mexican muralist, whom she got married then.
On September 1925, at about age 18, Frida was involved in a serious bus accident, whichleft her with a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis and 11 fractures in her leg. For a month, Frida was forced to stay in bed for a long time.
She began paintingshortly after the accident because she was bored in bed. This became her lifelong profession.
Although Frida´s recovery was miraculous, she died have relapses of tremendous pain and fatigue allthroughout her life, which caused her to be hospitalized for long periods.
She also turned to alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes to ease his pain.
After he discharged from hospital, a close friend introducedFrida to the artistic crowd of México, which also included Diego Rivera.
Diego and Frida married on August 1929 and their marriage consisted of love, affairs with other people, hate, and a divorce in1940 that lasted one year. Their marriage was called the union between an elephant and a dove, because Diego was huge and very flat, and Frida was small and slender.
Despite Diego´s affairs whitother women (one was whit Frida´s sister), he helped her in many ways. He loved her work and was her greatest admirer.
Frida let out of her emotions on canvas. She painted her anger and hurt over herstormy marriage, the painful miscarriages, and the physical suffering underwent because of the accident.
Frida, despite all the suffering, was an outgoing person. She loved drink tequila and to sing...
