1.- History of the UCSG University
This college was established on May 17, 1962, at the request of the board of Catholic college pro presiding Bishop César Antonio Corral Mosquera, Archbishop of Guayaquil, the jurist Dr. Leonidas Ortega Moreira and P. Joachim Flor Vásconez SJ, who were their founding authorities, as Chancellor, first president and chief executive respectively. On June 6, 1963,began the first term of classes with the following faculties: Law, Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy and Educational Sciences and Physical Sciences and Mathematics (School of Civil Engineering and Architecture). The courses were taught in night school building "April 20", where he worked until 1966 when it opened the main building on campus. In 1963 was founded the School of Economics,attached to the Faculty of Law. Subsequently, the Body of Government, at its meeting March 18, 1965, approved the creation of the School of Economics.
In 1965 he created the School of Architecture (formerly functioned as the school attached to the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics). In 1967-68 they created the Institute of Technical Education for Development (Faculty since 26-IX-77), andthe Faculty of Medicine. In 1970 he authorized the operation of the Institute of Applied Arts (now career of Interior Design) and in 1973 he joined the Faculty of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing. In 1985 he founded the School of Computer Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and, in the same year, authorized the operation of the Council of Law School of Jurisprudence.2.-Presentation of the UCSG Principals through all these years.

3.- Biography of Dr. Leonidas Ortega Moreira
Dr. Leonidas Ortega Moreira was born in the City of Portmore, Manabi, the August 18, 1911, where he lived until he was 4 years old, then moved to the city of Guayaquil, Approach And yes trained as a lawyer and a public man.
He graduated in accounting college municipal José AndresMateus graduate lawyer, won the title of Doctor of Jurisprudence the 13 August 1936, , he received several awards by major institutions in the country.
On 1 September 1936 was appointed Secretary General of the Superintendency of Banks
Later he was founder and first President of the Bar Association of Guayaquil, where he served two more times.
Later he had the responsibility and honor ofbeing one of the founders of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, which was elected "Rector" by the Holy See and on two occasions.
In the private field is highlighted as a student at the University of Guayaquil, obtaining at graduation, the award Contenta.

During his life he received the following decorations:
* "Merit" in the Grade of "Gran Cruz" which gave the nationalgovernment on April 28, 1960;
* From the "Grand Cross" granted by the Government of Chile on July 27, 1962
* "Pro Ecclesia et Pontiff", which gave the Holy See, on April 2, 1966;
* "San Lorenzo", awarded by the President Leon Febres Cordero Rivadeneira Ing on 24 July 1986
He was named Jurist of the Year by the Bar Association, the very year before his death.
He was one of the founders ofContinental Bank, whose development and strengthening spent the last decade of his life, fighting for his aggrandizement. This banking institution honored him with the title of Honorary President for Life.
He wrote the following books: "The Sources of Obligations", "Abortion before the law, religion and science," "Moral Advocacy" and "Child Delinquency."
