Global Warming’s Reasons and Possible Solutions

In this essay I am going to talk about some of the reasons Global Warming is getting worse and the possible solutions to stop this nightmare. Thereare three numbers that explain what is happening with Global warming according to the article: “Global Warming’s terrifying New Math” by Bill McKibben. These are: two degrees Celsius, the budget ofdegrees we could reach; 565 gigatons, the amount of carbon dioxide humans can pour by midcentury and hopefully still stay below two degrees; 2,795 gigatons, the amount of carbon already contained inthe proven coal. These numbers are not exact but few dispute they are generally right.

Politics and industries are not helping with this situation. Politicians say they are trying to help but, atthe same time they support these industries, that use toxic pesticides and insecticides and its wastes are thrown in the rivers near them. By reading the article: “Organic Clothing Can Reduce GlobalWarming!” I notice that clothing industries are really causing damage to our planet. So, what are these numbers saying and how can we convince people with power to make things right?

At theCopenhagen climate conference, they came to a conclusion that we should keep the planet below two degrees Celsius. We’ve raised the average temperature of the planet just under 0.8 degrees Celsius and it hascaused more damage than we could ever imagine before. Third of Summer Sea ice in the artic is gone, the oceans are thirty percent more acidic, and the atmosphere over oceans is five percent wetter.All this and more is happening to our planet right now just with 0.8 degrees Celsius, now think about reaching the two degrees budget. This could be very devastating to our planet. The climate changescan be exaggerated and this is a risk to humanity.
