2. GRID COMPUTING
The computational Grid is a software architecture for supporting highperformance
distributed computing using resources. Resources are committed
to a virtual, shared pool by theirowners. These resources are computational
systems, network connections, storage… The computational Grid is like the
power electric, the producers offer their producs which are managed by a
broker. Finally the users or consumers demand the use of these resources.
An important assumption made by the architects of the computational grid is
that it will no be possible to fore resource providersto remove or replace
elements of their existing software vase. Resource owners are often reluctant to
replace their local system software for fear of destabilizing working systems,
even if thesoftware offers greater potential functionality. Therefore, to gain
acceptance, the Grid must accessible as a set of services layered on top of
installed, extant software rather tan as a replacement. This software is the
middleware and it is between the applications an local system software.
When designing a Grid resource allocation scheme, there are many challenges
that must be solved. Thesechallenges are:
• Problems with centralized approaches.
• Problems with decentralized approaches.
• Low overhead.
• Heterogeneity.
• Resource Cost.
• Stability.
• Accounting.
3. GRID ECONOMY
Theneed for an economy dirven resource management and scheduling system
comes from the answers to the following questions:
• What comprises the Grid?
• If we gain access to Grid resources by payingmoney, do resource
owners need to hacrge the same or different price for other users?
• How can users solve their problems within a minimum cost?

The architecture varies depending on themethod-protocol used in determining
or negotiating the resource access cost. The key components of economydriven
resource management system include:
User Applications
Resource Broker. The Resource...
