RESUMEN
El interés de esta investigación esta cimentado en la necesidad de una nueva implementación de adecuaciones en Proceso de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje para niños que presentan Retardo Mental.
Este trabajo, se llevo a cabo en las instalaciones de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador SedeSanto Domingo. El grupo de personas que conformaron este equipo es de 5 personas, quienes trabajando conjuntamente llegaron a la conclusión de este proyecto. De esta manera, esta investigación pretenderá ayudar a los profesores a identificar las posibles características de un niño/a que presenta Retardo Mental y aplicar el método de enseñanza adecuado para él o ella; con referencia a loinvestigado el grupo aplicó diferentes métodos e investigaciones. La investigación correspondió a un estudio de tipo científico en cuanto al nivel de profundidad se utilizó un estudio explicativo-descriptivo. En general el trabajo se dividió en 4 capítulos: Marco Conceptual, Metodología, Resultados, Discusión, Conclusiones y Recomendaciones. Al comprobar los resultados obtenidos en las encuestas adiferentes profesores se llegó a establecer que la mayoría desconocen del tema y no saben cómo identificar a un niño que presente esta anomalía; por lo tanto esto afirma a la hipótesis inicial de que si los docentes no conocen sobre el Retardo Mental, no podrá hacer las adaptaciones curriculares.

The interest of this research is grounded in the need of a new implementation of the adjustments in Process of Teaching and Learning for children with Mental Retardation.
This work, he took place at the campus of the Catholic University of Santo Domingo Ecuador Headquarters. The group of people that made this team is 5 people, who are working together to get to the conclusion of thisproject. Thus, this research will seek to help teachers identify the possible characteristics of a child/ a posing Mental Retardation and apply the appropriate teaching method for him or her, with reference to the group investigated different methods and applied research. Research corresponded to a scientific type in the level of an explanatory cross - descriptive study was used. Overall the work wasdivided into 4 chapters: Conceptual Framework, Methodology, Results and Discussion and Conclusions and Recommendations. When checking the results of different surveys teachers came to establish that most are unaware of the issue and do not know how to identify a child presenting this anomaly , so that the initial hypothesis states that if teachers do not know on Mental Retardation , you cannot makecurricular adaptations .
