Climate
-------------------------------------------------

Hawaii's climate is typical of a subtropical zone, but with less extremetemperatures and humidity, due to the moderating action exerted by the trade winds. Maximum summer temperatures rarely exceed 33 ° C and in winter (low elevation areas) do not usually fall more than18 ° C.4
Precipitation as snow, affects high elevations as Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island in some winter months. Rarely has snowed on Haleakala, Maui.
Mount Waialeale (Waialeale), onthe island of Kauai, is notable for rainfall it receives, the second highest in the world.
In 2003, Hurricane Jimena hit the islands in the hurricane season in the Pacific, 2003, which is notcommonly done in this.
